Hi There,
Has anyone got any recommendations on 'Live Chat' software for an e-commerce site.
We are looking at adding this feature to our site so customers can ask questions and info before purchasing if they need to, there seems lots of software out there and they all seem the same. The ones I have looked at are based on a monthly fee to pay, is this normal?
Also has anyone any experience of Live Chat software? Do customers use them?? We have the kind of products that customers want to ask simple questions about so thought it could possibly be a good feature.
Your feedback would be great
Cheers
Sarah

Hi Ohsoinviting.
I would make recommendation for provide support. You can visit their website below.
http://www.providesupport.com/p/haskicl
Their subscription is based on a 1m,3m,6m, and 1yr subscription.
Yes Customers do use them as it gives the assurance of been able to instantly communicate with someone in order to clarify some points
Honestly, it is a good feature.
I hope this has helped out.

I have used phplivesupport (www.phplivesupport.com) and I am currently trialing LivePerson (www.liveperson.com). LivePerson is, in my opinion, way over priced for what it offers. They think they are the bees knees but they are not. I'm only trialing them as they are on of only 2 companies that provide Mac client software (all be it years behind XP).
You also need to look at what it is is you need from the software. Some provide simple chat features, others provide tracking and stats, etc.
Livechatdir.com (www.livechatdir.com) might be able to help you out further - it is a site that reviews live chat software.
I find it nice to have but don't have that many queries through it, although LivePerson I can use one account on more than one site which is good!
The thing you need to be careful with is that if you advertise live chat it needs to be online as many hours of the day as possible. Prospective clients do not seem to like seeing it as "offline" or "away". So that is something to think about.
TBH I have made no sales through using live support and most customers email us any support queries. However it really is a must have in my industry to offer it.

Hi There,
Thanks for your feedback.
Admin - So is LivePerson the only software compatible with MACS?? We use MACS and I'm just begining to realise that non of the software works on them.
It's funny I went on to 'provide support's' website and viewed their customer testimonials 99% of their customers had the button offline!
