I would start by looking at www.patentoffice.gov.uk as a good source. Given that this is a very specialised area of law, consider taking some legal advice on the area you are seeking advice on. It will be much more beneficial than a DIY job.
The Patent office is very good and very clear but really only covers the basics in terms of legal information. There are also a number of legal study books on the subject. If you want more information let me know on here the basics of what you are wanting to do and I can point out some texts. These will be costly as most intellectual property text books retail at £75 plus.
