The search has begun for the UK's best young entrepreneurs.

Growing Business, the UK's most requested magazine for fast growth companies, is seeking participants for its annual Young Guns feature.

The title is looking for outstanding entrepreneurs aged 35 or under who are the owner-manager or founder of a business a minimum of 1 year and a maximum of 10 years old.

David Lester, managing editor of Growing Business, said: "In 2003 and 2004, around a £1bn worth of sales went through the books of our Young Guns' companies. That's a massive achievement for 30 entrepreneurs still a long way shy of 40."

Qualifying companies should also employ more than 5 members of staff in its first year.

To stand a chance of being included, the firm must occupy a unique and original proposition with proven success in its market or can convince of future success.

"Many of our Class of 2003 are now recognised among the UK's most successful entrepreneurs, with brands such as smoothie specialists Innocent Drinks and leading independent ATM machine operator Cardpoint already part of the public consciousness," David Lester added.

"The whole point of our search and a major part of Growing Business magazine's raison d'etre is to continually identify the brightest business owners the country has to offer.

"Doing it all so young, they're pretty damn fearless, innovative and dynamic - and inevitably there's a lot any entrepreneur can learn from them, irrespective of age."

Growing Business' editorial team, who will consider those who meet most of the criteria, will begin interviewing participants in early June with the feature scheduled to run in the September issue of the magazine.

Growing Business is unable to accept applications from PR agencies.
