Hi everybody,
This is my first post on here.
I own and run a non-profit making site and i am about to embark on a Campaign to make the general public aware that although our servicemen and women are risking their lives daily in countries accross the globe, we find it hard to get even the most basic of services such as deliveries to a UK address and bank accounts......but enough of my ranting.
At the moment I am pigibacking off of the back of my site but I am in the process of creating a dedicated site.
I want to start up a bank account for the campaign but reading a few of the articles on here am I going to be able to open an account under the name of "The BFPO Campaign" with the Laundering law that I have read about.
If I am, what info would I need, I am not a registered company, have no company bank account and my personal bank account is registered at a BFPO address with Halifax.
Does anybody have any suggestions?
Any help woould be much appreciated.

its not a limited company, therefore you wont be able to open a limited company bank acccount.
I guess you are essentially (although not formally) a charity, so would look at the "not for profit" accounts. All the major banks do these, and normally without charge.

Thanks,
Would it be possible to set up a bank account such as this over the internet phone?
Although I have a BFPO and so essentially I have a UK address, I am stationed in Germany.
Thanks again,
John

You could open an account either in Germany or in the UK. Although you are not a limited company you would be able to open a business account as a sole trader as long as you accept any debts the account will incur. This would be a John T/A Posted Overseas or similar.
Most banks offer telephone banking or internet banking to help you keep an eye on your account from overseas.
If you are looking to register a new domain, I am currently offering .com's at £7 a year.. see my post in the offers forum for details.
Hope this helps?
