Hi - this is my first posting and maybe it's a bit OT. I'm a British man (post-grad, successful UK businesses), but have lived permanently in Thailand since 2002.

Together with my Thai wife, last year we opened a small airport/commuter hotel just by Phuket International Airport. I'm happy to say that this venture has been a rapid success, and we on target to repay the start-up costs in about 2 years. This project was self-funded - about 100,000 pounds to build and fit-out the 10-room hotel.

Now we have identified an opportunity to open a new hotel, just a few minutes from Bangkok's new airport. We have located suitable building land, but now need to figure out how to finance this project! The capital costs are again about 100,000 pounds and we would envisage recouping this cost in about 3 years.

But I do not have this level of savings, nor can I obtain loans in Thailand (I'm a foreigner!), nor can I obtain UK loans (I have no UK property for security). My Thai wife does not have the required period of credit history to obtain a loan.

Our existing Phuket hotel and my freelance (but regular) software work generates a monthly income for us of about 10,000 pounds.

What we need to find is a business angel who is prepared to think 'out of the box'. I should comment that I am very familiar with the Thai market and business environment. (Indeed, if I had the capital, I would open more than one new hotel!).

Advice gratefully received

Simon
