I'm getting to the point where I could do with (depending on price) renting some storage space in my town. I only need somewhere a garage size or smaller to start with, I was thinking of approaching local businesses to see if anyone had any outbuildings etc.
Can anyone give me any advice including a price indication?
We have no storage companies round here and I need daily access.

Hi Rachel
It looks like our business' are developing at a similar rate!
I went through this process a couple of months ago and opted to go with one of the self storage companies. For £80 per month I get around 75 square feet of space. For this, I have my own secure space which is fully alarmed and guarded 24 hours a day. I also have access between 06.00 and 22.00
The only other option open to me was to store it on pallets in a cavernous warehouse which does work out a lot cheaper. It does however, have quite a few security impications and owners of cavernous warehouses are not too keen on daily access. The only other advise that I could let you have is give your local Business Link office a call. The one around here used to have access to cheap lock ups but again, you will have security and subsequently insurance problems if you go down that route.
Hope this helps.

Hi Mystery Man
Indeed a storage company would be great, but there are none round here. I have found some storage 12 miles away at £20 per week for a 20ft container, with security and instant access, but I was hoping for something more local (within my village)
Can't wait to have the house back again!
