Hi everyone, I've received this media request from Jean Bartlett of The Bag Lady (a women's business portal) - if anyone's interested, details are listed below in blue. Regards, Caroline Lashley The Editor's Office, London Email: theeditorsoffice@yahoo.co.uk Dear Members, Please find below request from a television production company who are making a series for Channel 4s business department about new business start-ups. They are looking for people to take part, so they can follow the first year of highs and lows of the new venture taking off. It is potentially a very exciting project that could generate a lot of publicity for the right business. Best Wishes The Bag Lady PRESS RELEASE - Prime Time TV Series We are making a new series for Channel 4 about new businesses. We want to follow five new start-ups and see what it's really like to be the boss. The programmes: The series will consist of five programmes, each following one business as it starts and gets off the ground, right through its first 8-12 months of life. It is being produced for the business department of Channel 4 and through people's stories will be an intelligent, informative and realistic look at what is like to run your own business - a dream so many of us have. The series will be on prime time TV, watched by upwards of 3 million viewers. It is a terrific opportunity for the chosen businesses, and of course excellent publicity. We are looking for: People who have just/are about to give up the 9-5 to start a new business, preferably in a line of work they have no previous experience of, i.e. an estate agent who wants to be a florist, or a couple leaving the City to start a hotel. People who are risking a lot by doing this; it has to be make or break for them, and it has to be their dream. One-off businesses that have a lively visual presence, with people coming and going - a hotel, a gym, a high street shop for instance. Each new business will get an hour dedicated to their story, so it has to have interaction and movement. They should be opening for business in the next two months, although if it is a great story we can be flexible. So, are you, or anyone you know, giving up your job to risk it all on a new business venture? If so we would like to hear from you. Anyone interested should contact: Ali Ray at Ricochet South on 01273-648-396 or email: development@ricochetsouth.co.uk Ali Ray Assistant Producer Ricochet South tel: 01273 648396 fax: 01273 648391 www.ricochet.co.uk
