Firstly I'd like to say Hi to everyone here, as this is my first time posting!
I am currently looking to start up an estate agents (an online and a bricks and mortar presence ) in Kensington central London and I am looking for advice on two subjects.
After almost 2 months of market research (standing in waterloo station and asking people about their opinions of estate agents services , with replies like "They're all offsprings of the Bin-Laden clan", it was a tough job!), I have put together a business plan. However I am still not 100% happy with it. I would like to hire a professional consultant to make it more , "complete". The reason being whilst all my projections are good, I feel the wording and layout could be more professional looking and sounding. Does anyone here have any experince of using such services? Could you recommend anyone?
I already have an accountant for my other business (a software development company) and I was wondering if it is a good idea to commision them to raise the finance. I have managed to raise £75k through private finance, but I estimate I would require £150k. What do you think?
Thanks in advance for all your replies!
Ted

Hi Andi
The criteria for an estate agents can be found on this site. at http://www.startups.co.uk/YRerhExoS63Ijg.html .
There are no formal qualifications, you only need drive determination and ambition! (sounds like a cliche from hollywood but its true). I have no experience in selling property, so I am looking to hire a very experienced manager.
My site is currently down, but you can find it at www.bankersworld.com (you've probably guessed I work as a developer for a large investment bank, and before you ask, I cannot approach them for legal reasons!)

Hi Ted
I can recommend Julia Chanteray of www.management-resources.org to review your business plan. Her number is 0845 068 0888 (or +44 1273 685 363 from outside the UK). Best of luck
