Customer Database

I am starting a mail order business and will need to store all of my contacts' details on a database. What is the legislation regarding this and the Data Protection Act? Will I need my database analysed?

Only information about people is subject to the Data Protection Act. If you are keeping a database of companies then you don’t need to be registered. If, however, you are also keeping details of individuals who work for the company, then you do.
