Cashflow balancing act

Q. I have just started my own company selling niche and bespoke kitchen products. My customer base is growing and I now deal with more and more suppliers. Whilst this is great, I am finding it very difficult to manage my cashflow as I have lots of outstanding invoices at any given time. What can I do to manage this without annoying customers over late payments?

Organic wholesalers

Q. I'm trying to start an organic and natural homemade cosmetics company. I want to use FairTrade and organic ingredients where possible. How do I approach wholesalers and is it best to stick with UK suppliers?

Trade fairs

Q. I’m in the process of starting a small food production business and have visited quite a few trade fairs and exhibitions in search of ideas, contacts and inspiration. However, I often find it’s hard to decide which ones will offer the most value. As some are at opposite ends of the country, how can I appropriately choose which ones to attend, and are there any ways of maximising my chances of getting tangible value out of them?
