Can I ask, do you think that new web 2.0 tools are making it easier for online business to offer the kind of personal service that you would associate with small business/personal service?
I have just come on board as Marketing Manager for a company called Terapad, a website generator that offers a plethora of web 2.0 tools and I want to send out the message that forums, blogs, image galleries, event calendars (all functions the free templates offer) are becoming new tools in customer service focused business. BUT first I wanted to check that others had a.) Spotted the connection and b.) Agreed with my assessment.
What do you think?

Maybe...Just checked out Terapad and it does seem to have a lot of features, but isn't personal service all about face to face sales. The internet will never replace that.

Will McInnes, Director of Nixon McInnes, explains to business owners exactly how their interactive online presence improves their contact with customers and consequently their customer's experience with their company and their overall perception of the company.
The younger your target market is, the more important these factors will be, because technology is the norm.
And some constructive criticism (I hope!) - I've had a look at your website, and the first thing I clicked on, as it was relevant to your query, was your 'Community.' You have the latest 400 blog updates, which is great, but I can't see a way to search them, and I'm not going to scan more than the first page or so of entries, so I'm off your website and on someone else's.
So in answer to your question, yes these tools are valuable, but they must be user friendly, or they'll be counter-productive.
Hope I've helped a bit!
