The cream of young entrepreneurial talent in the UK is being asked to stand up, be counted and have their businesses recognised by the nation.
Each year Growing Business magazine seeks out the UK’s top Young Guns, entrepreneurs who are 35 or under and set to make big waves in the business world.
There will be 30 Young Guns selected and featured in the September issue of Growing Business, all of whom will have an exceptional or unique business proposition and a turnover in excess of £1m.
Businesses must be more than one-year-old but less than ten, and must employ more than five staff.
Growing Business is looking for the business leaders of tomorrow, companies that are attracting major investment, heading towards a flotation or just very profitable in their own right.
Entrepreneurs selected in previous years have included Richard Reed of Innocent Drinks, James Murray Wells of Glasses Direct and Al Gosling of Extreme Group.
Many of the entrepreneurs who have been featured in previous years have gone on to achieve great things with their businesses, demonstrating that Young Guns is for truly elite companies.
Innocent Drinks, who featured in Young Guns 2003, has taken the fruit drinks sector by storm and is well on its way to achieve its vision of being ‘Europe’s favourite little juice company’.
In 2005, the company saw its turnover double to over £30m and projections for 2006 suggest that this pattern will continue.
Matt Thomas, deputy editor of Growing Business, said: “Young Guns is now synonymous with discovering new emerging entrepreneurs and unearthing the big companies of tomorrow, today.
“Every year we doubt we’ll find a new crop as exciting, dynamic and innovative as the last, but each time we do and I don’t expect this year to be any different. If you’re under 35 and running a business with high-growth potential, we want to speak to you.”
Company owners who feel that they have the right to appear alongside the very best of UK talent should email Growing Business magazine at matthewt@crimsonbusiness.co.uk - with details of their business proposition.
