I am an online retailer selling children's clothing and toys. I have decided to have a change of business and need to sell my existing stock.
All my stock is brand new,in sealed packaging and some are on wooden hangers.
Can anyone please give me some advice where the best place to advertise would be?
Many Thanks
Mel

ebay would probably be the best place even as a job lot alternatively look for sellers that you think might be interested and contact them directly?
sorry i couldn't be more helpful.

Ebay, car boot sale or market. Perhaps find an ebayer selling your type of stuff already and offer your stock to them. If you want rid of all of it probably best to sell it as mixed lots so buyers don't cherry pick and you get left with the dross no one wants.

I would look at ebay like the others recommended you can also open an amazon store.

Could you sell the business as a going concern? There are lots of websites who sell entire businesses rather than just the stock - Google "businesses for sale". It seems a shame to only benefit from the sale of stock rather than all the hard work you will have put into building you business (website, processes, existing clients etc).
Just an idea!

Hi Caroline,
All i need to do is change my website around a bit. I started out selling children's clothing and shoes, then added toys. I have decided to just sell toys and get rid of the clothing so my website can easily be changed.
Thanks
Mel

Hi Mel,
I see - could you do an email out to your existing customers with "Massive Clothing Sale 40% off" or whatever? Couple of reasons:
1) It saves you time because you won't have to upload everything to Ebay
2) Those existing customers are more likely to buy from you
3) Visits to your website will go up which is good for SEO
4) Visits to your website will go up which is good for more toy sales and builds on your existing relationship with the customers
5) You could introduce them to an affiliate clothing site where you get commission on their purchases
Hope that helps!
Caroline
