A South London business networking event is expecting its largest-ever turnout this autumn, a regional business organisation claims.
The Croydon Chamber of Commerce (CCC) said it expects 2,500 delegates to attend its Business First 2005 business-to-business networking event in November, making it the largest such event in the South East.
The exhibition will bring together importers, exporters and businesses small and large, offering them space to show their products and make new contacts.
“The objective of the show is to enable our stand holders to showcase their business and to use Business First to directly interact with key customers,” said Hardeep Kalsi, acting chief executive of the CCC.
The CCC said that nearly half of last year’s visitors are attending this year’s show for the purpose of offering their services or searching for new products and services.
This year the CCC has reduced the number of exhibitors’ stands from 125 to 86 to ensure that companies that exhibit will be able to promote their products and services to a larger audience.
Exhibitors plan to showcase myriad products, from Ukrainian confection to gems from Guyana. Foreign language speakers will be on hand to help delegates overcome any language barriers.
The event will also feature up to 30 seminars on new business techniques and innovative ideas, 10 of which will be hosted by main sponsor Business Link for London.
The Institute of Export, UK Trade and Investment and HSBC also sponsor the event, which will be held at Fairfield Halls in Croydon from 9 to 10 November.
