Tonight sees a new Dragon enter the Den as BBC Two airs the first in the new series of the popular business investment show.
Serial entrepreneur and venture capitalist James Caan, tonight joins Peter Jones, Deborah Meaden, Duncan Bannatyne and Theo Paphitis on the panel.
Caan set up the Alexander Mann Group in 1985 which grew into one of the leading HR outsourcing companies in the UK. After building it into a £130m turnover business, he sold it in 2002.
It’ll be interesting to see if this series produces any more business celebrities along the lines of Reggae Reggae Sauces entrepreneur Levi Roots, who featured on our own judging panel for the Startups Awards last month.
Other predictions to make as you sit glued to the current series will be which entrepreneur will make it big after being turned down by the fiery dragons. Former Startups Awards winner Rachel Lowe was famously rejected by the dragons before making it big with her Destination Game, which was 2004’s best Christmas seller at toy store Hamley’s.
Will the Dragons fail to spot a winner over the coming weeks? Or perhaps they’ll invest in the next big thing. To find out tune in to BBC Two tonight at 9pm.
