Perhaps the members of this forum are willing to offer advice - sometimes it helps to get more than one opinion.
It looks like your site is hosted in the US, are you US or UK based and what is your main audience (US or UK). What are your other minor niggles with the current site? Are your future site's requirements similar to the current site, i.e. informational sites with an advertising revenue? If you would prefer to contact me directly please use the contact us email on my site via my profile.
To start the ball rolling on advice, here are some improvement tips...
1. your top logo image is a maximum quality jpg with a file size of 187K, if you at least save it at medium quality you should be able to get it down to around 40K with little noticeable loss in quality - thus making the page and logo load quicker
2. you dont have any SEO meta tags for keywords or description
3. your advert text for the ebook, which takes up most of the home page, is replicated on other sites and google may not like this as it can spot that your site is not offering unique content
4. your site may suffer from information and menu overload on the home page, which can sometimes be bad from an SEO perspective since too much information dilutes the important stuff. This is sometimes typical of sites that only contain 2 levels of information/pages, i.e. 1st level is the home page, 2nd level are the other pages that the home page links to. Consider 3 levels of information/pages, this will spread the information out, allow you to expand the content easier, and is better from an SEO perspective since SEO is about having a number of pages that each focus on a particular subject.
Overall, you have already put in place some good SEO techniques, like changing the title for each page.

Hi,
The content of the site itself is already a good basis for search engines, but I can see improvements - some instant that can bring an element of overnight success.
I'd be happy to help guide you through the minefield of SEO for your Gardening site for free. If you're happy with the progress and work maybe you would then consider us for future designs and projects.
