Has anyone had any experience with the above. Just starting out with my company and the key to its sucess its flooding the local area hard with advertising.
Been thinking about advertising for my local team that I play for, they play a good standard and go as far south as Plymouth for matches (team is based near Bristol). All they are looking for is someone to provide kit for the first and reserve teams. In return they are offering company name on the shirt, club house and around the pitch.
Anyone sponsored a local football team? If so has anyone found it to be of benefit?

depending on the team and size of etc, i'd be thinking more along the lines of 20 sets of kit max, and these are bought at much less than £30 per head from the kit manufacturers

As with any form of advertising, it really depends on your product, your target market and the match with your proposed form of advertising.
It's no use plastering your local footy team with your branding and logo if you have just started a hairdressing business targeting grannies.
Daft example I know, but if you tell us what your business is and who you deem your customer to be then we can probably offer some constructive advice.

Hey
Nigel i come from Bristol and the link you provided is a great idea, thanks.
Joe My husbands rugby team have local sponsors and i know last years shirts cost £500 for 18 shirts and that was with all Logo's including sponship Logo. Shame is The team isnt all that brilliant so dont think the exposure they got was massive, you should try a team like St Marys rugby, they recently (within the last 2 years) went to twickenham and were on Sky sports.
Maybe you could sponsor a streaker!! LOL I could do it for you, would get loads of advertising space on my behind LOL.

Hi Joe and Liz
Re. thebestof site, I am on both evesham and Cheltenham and it costs me £20 per month total. Set-up cost was, I think, about £25 for each site. I've had a good enquiry rate from each one.
£500 for 18 shirts? That equals £27.77. Sorry if I misled you Joe by £2.23. But then again, I did say 'about.'
Cheers, Nigel

The idea is a simple one. The business is called Somerset Traders. It is aimed at new tradesman and small companies looking to get a head start with cheap advertising. The idea being I flood the area with advertising meaning they dont have too. A numbers game but with bulk advertising (flyers etc) doesn't actually cost me that much.
With the company name being Somerset Traders and my football team being in the Somerset and Toolstation League, with a lot of builders etc playing for their local teams, I thought it would make good sense. Kit would cost around £400 as I have a friend in that business.
