My company was originally in the 3D game making area, but over the last few years we have moved our focus more into business websites, so I might be able to offer some feedback from both angles.
It is certainly a good idea to avoid trying to make money in the mainstream games market, even the director of Eidos (creators of Lara Croft and Tomb Raider) recently said they were too small to make any money in the games business!
Using games as a viral marketing tool for businesses is a good idea. In this area though, you have to realise that the user base is the casual and non-gamer market, and as such, 3D PC games might not be the ideal platform. Casual/non-gamers generally find 2D games easier to play, 3D games can have too high a technical system/installation requirement (e.g. 3D card) which the user does not have on their business/family PC, 3D PC games can be quite large to download compared to more simple games, business users may not be allowed to download and install software, and in a lot of cases the most easily accessible viral marketing games are web-based Flash/HTML/Java games not 3D PC games.
I'd be interested to see what you have done, so if you have a website please post it on this forum, otherwise please email me at the contact us email on my website.

Would these games be able to be made into flash games ? I have dozens of forums and installed flash games in loads of them, but im thinking if the games are litterally given away to be put on all the forums out there that have these flash games the advertising market would be a lot wider most nuke forums etc have the flash games and i have noticed a few sites dedicated to these free flash games so could be potential there.

Flash Games could be done but not converted would have to make
From scratch am also looking at offering something new
For shop/store owner sale software and games with out
Needing to ordering new stock am think if you have a
Computer setup for customers to view games or software
If user likes what they see then the user burns a copy
user gives retailer £1 per disk not per program
In the long term it would be nice to get a few software houses
Onboard for this still in planning stage
