Hi,
I am seriously investigating the purchase and operation of a subway franchise. Does any one have any views/experience on the franchise in the UK and if I need to be looking at anything specifically over and above the normal due diligence and legal advice?
Regards
Leighton

Hello there Leighton,
If you have a look at our profile of a Subway franchisee by clicking on http://www.startups.co.uk/franchising/article.asp?articleid=2596&zsectionid=3&subsectionid=223 this will hopefully give you some insight as to what's involved.
Subway is certainly a growing franchise - the company plans to open up over 1700 new outlets across the UK over the next 7 years, to add to the 150 stores they currently have here.
The franchise fee is around £6,000, although of course other costs (leasehold, equipment etc.) push the amount needed much higher, depending on the size of the outlet.
If you'd like to know more, Subway provide a pretty comprehensive franchisee information pack, call them on 0800 0855058 to get one.
Hope this is of some help. Best of luck.
Regards,
Oliver
