When starting your new company, it is important to give some consideration as to how potential customer will contact you and what will compel them to do so.
Having an 0800 number has been shown to increase the response to marketing by up to 300% (I guess people just like to get something for nothing).
Well now you can too. We will supply you with an 0800, 0845 or 0870 number totally free of charge. There is also no monthly fee to pay. All you do pay for is a small per minute price for receiving calls (except 0870 numbers where we will pay you a small rebate for receiving calls)
Come to www.davria.co.ukfor more information or call me on 0845 331 2004.
PS lots more ideas for new businesses on the website.
All the best

I find it strange that the offer advocates using a 0800 number as it is the best option, then tells you to call a 0845 number! That would put me off straight away as I rather prefer to see people practice what they preach.

It says above that you have to pay a small charge per minute for the 0845 numbers too. I have an 0845 number which costs me no more than £50 per year, basiclly just for the cost of setting it up.
If anyone is interested I will let you know who it is.

To all respondents to my original post - please accept my apologies for not replying to your kind responses but I was under the impression that your replies would be e-mailed to me (which they have not been). Having re-read that it is as clear as mud but I hope you understand the jist.
Thanks to Marketeer for pointing out my blunder. We have an 0800 number which we use for all of our customers and potential customers but at the time of posting my offer we were trialling a new Virtual Office system on 0845 331 2004 and that number must have been stuck in my mind. Please call me on 0800 698 48 58.
As Phil N has said above, there are many different charging models for 0845 numbers. My experience is that when starting up a new business you have no idea of how many calls you will receive on your 0845 number. If the call volume is low then by paying £50 the unit cost of the call is very expensive. I have found the fairest model is for the customer to pay a small price for what they actually use but as with everything in life it is for the customer to pay their money and make their choice.
Once again, thank you for your responses and whatever business you are all in, good luck to you all.
Regards
Dave

Saw these posts re non-geographic numbers and thought I'd point interested parties towards www.Lamtha2Telecom.co.uk- we got our numbers from them.
They seem to one of the few suppliers who offer local rate 0845 numbers with no call charges.
But the bit is they pay us up to 4.75p per min on our 0871 support line just to receive calls!
Bit pissed that they started offering fax numbers for just a £1 soon after we bought ours - still can't win em all.
