If you are after a website that doesn't look like all the others out there, the I can reccommend e-Kit.co.uk ( http://www.e-Kit.co.uk ) . They specialise in building sites to fit the working AND Image of the business. have a look at one they are working on for a friend of mine: http://LighthouseLanguages.com

Your best bet is to look around good websites and try to contact the designers.
Web designers these days focus more on selling and showcasing their skills than focusing on the business owners website. Don't fall into that kind of trap.
Spell out clearly what you want your site to achieve and judge the success or otherwise based on the targets you set.

i can personally recommend Craig at www.snubcommunications.com who has just finished building this for me:

He's a nice bloke and has done an excellent job (ignore the spelling mistakes in that site, it was just to show off the design!). Tell him Sam at Nerja Choice Rentals passed his name on if you do get in touch.
Hope this is of use,
Sam

Hi,
I can certainly recommend my own services!
I would also offer the following advice - as you know the web is a sales/marketing channel. Your web site must not only be designed well but must also meet your marketing objectives.
Your website is a great marketing tool - ask your web designer what they know about marketing (Do they have any marketing qualifications or background?). If they can't answer the marketing questions they haven't a hope of designing a site that meets your needs - Web design IS marketing.
Good luck with your search.
Kind regards,
Mike

Hi jap_786
Bit late to the game! What I suggest you do is sit down and write some requirements for your website, what you would like it to have, not have, any thoughts and ideas you might have etc. Then email it to everyone who has posted and see what response you get. That way you can judge on a few companies quotes, look at their portfolio, and speak to a few to see who you get on well with.
Or you can give one of our web solutions advisors a call on 020 8434 0483 and they will have a chat with you about your ideas and what website kind of website would be suitable. Or email me at natalie@elaborations.co.uk
This is the link to our portfolio of work www.elaborations.co.uk/portfolio.html
Look forward to hearing from you.
