The challenges and needs of the small businesses sector are to be debated as government and business experts come together for a week of championing entrepreneurialism.
Monday October 13 sees the start of Small Business Week 2008, an annual campaign which brings together national and local government, business experts, support services and owner managers to discuss the changing needs of small businesses.
This is the second year BT Business has hosted Small Business Week and this year’s event is in partnership with organisations including the British Chambers of Commerce (BCC), everywoman, Business Link, NatWest, and Startups’ sister publication, Growing Business.
The week will tackle issues such as mentoring, flexible working and innovation in a series of events and initiatives across the UK.
Bill Murphy, managing director of BT Business, said: “The landscape for UK business has changed dramatically over the past year. Yet despite this, small and medium businesses remain the lifeblood of the economy.
“It is a sector that continues to be dynamic and energising, but more than ever, we need to ensure the right resources and structures are in place to support small businesses during these more challenging times.”
