New Business Expert Event
The Octagon at Queen Mary, University of London

If you are currently considering starting up a new business, or if you are currently in business but would like a better understanding successfully running your business, finance and marketing then this is the event for you.
During the course of one day there will be five main topics for discussion with key figures presenting a topic on each of the following:
Considering Starting Up - approaches to starting your own business, research and develop your business idea, preparing a business plan, business start-up organiser
Finance - choosing the right finance for your business, cash flow management, grants and loans, balance sheets
Taxes, Records and Return - guide to rates, taxes and accounts, record-keeping system, VAT, PAYE and National Insurance
Employing People - taking on staff, employment contracts, employment laws
Sales & Marketing - knowing your customer's needs, market research and reports, writing a marketing plan, choosing the right product.
The speakers:
Yvonne Thompson CBE will give an inspirational talk to delegates attending. Yvonne ran her own marketing and PR Company and is Director of the UK's only legally black owned radio station.
Paul Smart is currently Deputy Area Director, Central London Business Banking for Lloyds TSB. Paul will talk about choosing the right type of finance for your business and the choosing from the great range of business banking services currently available.
Further speakers for this event will be confirmed and announced closer to the time.
Stands:
There will also be a number of exhibition stands and displays at this event from a number of key organizations. Exhibition stands are also available from just £850.00 + VAT and will be fully built and ready for the event.
Exhibition stands can make a great difference to promote your business and you shall have access to all of the facilities of the conference centre.
The Cost:
The cost of attending this event is just £85.00 per person and includes attendance of the five topics detailed above, refreshments throughout the day and a buffet-style lunch.
There is also a chance to take advantage of a special offer whereby if you have a party of more than 6 people attending then the price of this event are just £70.00 per person.
The Venue:
Built in 1888, The Grade II listed Octagon has recently been restored to its former grandeur. Modelled on the Reading Room of the British Museum, the Octagon is still considered to be one of East London’s most historically and architecturally important showpieces.
