Most new entrepreneurs will claim that everyday is equally stressful, but new research suggests that Monday stands out from the rest.
A survey by Nurofen Tension Headache has found that Monday-morning traffic jams and the pressure of a new 5 days of photocopier jams and computer failures makes the start of the week the worst to bear.
Somewhat surprisingly, the survey found that Friday was the second-most stressful day.
"Starting a new business is exciting but can also be particularly stressful, as you’re literally stepping into the unknown," said stress management expert Ann McCracken.
"Pressure can build up over the first few months and this is when stress symptoms can develop. The 24/7 culture is very demanding on new business owners as they want to make sure they don't miss an opportunity or a new customer.
"A good strategy is to use your answer phone service and prioritize calls instead of responding off the cuff."
Computer crashes proved the biggest bane of those surveyed, followed closely by rude and annoying colleagues.
Some 62% of those who travel into work by car said commuting causes them a great deal of stress.
