Having recently changed our company "format" and become private limited rather than a sole trader the last piece in the jigsaw relates to using a PO box for mail etc. The company is registered as Anglo-Sino (UK) Limited and my home address was used as the registered address. Rather than have my address on everything I could have opted to use the incorporation agents address costing 60GBP p.a. At the time I decided to save myself the money! Rather than have my home address plastered all over documents etc (not that we are a dodgy outfit I hasten to add) can I use a PO box or will these mean re-registering the company address.
Secondly I received a letter this morning from IR entitled "Authorising your agent". I outsourced the company secretary role to the company I used to incorporate us. My understanding is I need to fill this form in so that they are allowed to act on my behalf. I can hear you all saying take a look on their website etc......10 day old in one arm, 3 year old on the couch full of cold!! Bonus always being answers will be unique to my query here.
Thanks

Paul,
You can’t have a registered address as a PO Box number. And you are quite right this is on the companies house website.
If for some reason your don’t want your home address to be included on documents (and you should give a trading address, so if you are trading from home you should be giving this anyway) you can use a mail forwarding company.
I would suggest you ask your co. secretary nominee if they provide this mail forwarding service. They will normally provide a UK office address for around £100 per annum
If this "authorising your agent" form is the one I think it is, this is for your accountant rather than your nominee secretary who doesn’t actually do anything in practice. This form enables your accountant to talk to the Inland Revenue on your behalf.
If you need some more detailed assistance in getting all the paperwork in order for your limited company as we discussed in emails then please let me know.

Anglo Sino I feel for you - I've been working with a three week old on one arm, and a 3 year old hanging off the other too :-) Who also seems to have had a running cold since the second child was born .... ah...it can only get easier eh?? :-)

Ahhhh! The joys of working from home! Rumour is it gets better, two girls so I had better save up for the weddings. Luckily the 3 year old does not like boys.....hope it stays that way.
