I love it Charlene!
It's all about getting out there and doing it, not matter how you do it, I'm only grasping that aspect myself.
What is your speciality? I know someone who designs jewellery, we'll final year at uni, and i said the best way is to get your own place, but linke you said, may have to start a stall.
I think spittlefields market by liverpool st station would be a great point to start, if you can get a spot, it seems to be quite popular.
I don't know if I would be able to help you, but I am starting a networking event in london, www.justnetwork.co.uk, its really for any businesses that want to attend and get out there really, you could try it maybe and see if there is people there that may be able to help you, i don't know.
It will be different people each time as people will come and go, so your just going to have to come every week to find out aren't ya! Just kidding!
But I am all for creative businesses, I would love to have my own shop, as i am a designer at heart and would love to have my own shop, doing t-shirts, canvases, funky ornaments, anything that i fancy creating really.
Very much good luck to you Charlene, I would interested to see how you go.
Cheers
Lewis, 25
p.s. i will be watching closely!
p.p.s sorry for the rambling!

Thanks for your response...
I myself have been very creative and found that it didn't really get me anywhere as now you can buy pretty much anything for peanuts and to make things now costs quite a bit.
I started making jewellery 3-4 yrs ago to try to get an extra income while living abroad but it never really took off.
Then there was dolly making but the prices people pay now has plumetted, i have so many stories of things i have tried but now i want a retro sweet shop, selling old style sweets.
I really want this to work.
They are really hard to get hold of but my hard work has paid off as i now have a supplier.
This is just a stepping stone for the bigger picture for me as i would like to open a business abroad, but yet again funding is a problem....
So if this is successful i will use the money i earn to fund the next venture.
Sounds very ambitious i know, but that is the plan.
(now who's rambling
)
I hope your business intrests work out for you, everyone who has the guts to make those first little steps need all the luck they can get.
Take care
Char

Hi Char,
That does sound interesting, I do love the old sweet shops, i do have a bit of a swwet tooth!
And it does sound like you do have some battle scars, but all the better to make you stronger.
I love the idea of a business abroad, I think thats what i intend to achieve, I haven't really thought where, Oz is always a good one, where would you venture into?
If you do decide that you want to network with real live people, then you have my website, be good to meet you and put a face to a name.
Cheers
Lewis
