Contract cleaning

Hi All, I'm in the process of starting up a cleaning business, I have 2 clients so far but they both are domestic. What I want to do is expand into contract cleaning for companies. I'm stuck as to how to quote for this service. I have looked everywhere but can not find anything that would help me. Any idea's??

Hello Red I know a number of people in this line and ive asked them that same question.. Establish equipment that will be left on site(build into cost of contract with the expectation of equipment depreciating by one fifth over a five year period Establish equipment that will be transportable and used in other jobs then apportion a realistic amount of cost to the contract. Establish cleaning materials with a view to estimated amounts to be used over the year(a hard one if you get it wrong!!!) Establish overheads....fuel costs to get to job etc(dont forget you ill need to be insured ) Any other costs you can think of and allow a reasonable amount for unexpected costs(repair of equipment etc) Your rate of pay(very important[]) and overall cost of employing others to assist in contract(Inland revenue site has good info on this Total this up and any other costs that are unique to you then submit your quote and see how it is recieved. Id recommend trying one as an experiment first without worrying too much about getting it. A terrific business if you get it right so good luck with it....Rich
