The majority of small and medium-sized businesses view overall value for money as the most important factor when considering which office technology and telecoms service provider to use, according to new research released today.
BT’s Switching Survey showed that 77% of respondents rated value for money as the most important factor compared with just 6% who said they would choose the provider that offered the cheapest deal.
Flexibility and the variety of products and services were the second most important factors in the decision-making process.
The research also showed a correlation between purchaser’s experience as a consumer and their decision as a business telecoms user, with seven out of ten saying that their purchasing decisions were influenced by their experience as a residential telecoms customer.
Managing director of BT Business Bill Murphy, said: “For switchers coming back to BT Business, the reason is because they know we’re not in the business of making wild claims about savings. What we do offer is excellent value for money; a service they can rely on and a range of innovative offerings that make working life easier and help businesses to thrive.”
BT’s research was conducted by YouGov by online interview among a sample of 2405 adults between 6 to 8 June 2006.
