Hello all. Glad I found this site.
For the last 9 months or so, I've been developing a web site that will offer a new and unique service to users of Apple's iPod. As you know, iPod is a staggering success and I thought it might be a good idea to launch a business catering to people who have purchased the product.
No - it's not the obvious accessories such as cases, armbands, etc. there are already loads of companies addressing that need. I can't be more specific about the service at this point in time for obvious reasons, but I am considering charging somewhere between £1.50 and £3 for each use of the service.
My question: In your collective opinion, what is the best way to collect such small amounts? I've read up about Worldpay, etc. and they seem pretty good - but I'm concerned that my prices may be too low to collect via Credit/Debit cards, etc.
Does anyone have any experience in charging low prices such as these on the Internet? Would you pay, for example, £2 via a credit card? If you would - then that's cool! If not, any particular reason?
Aslo - can anyone explain to me how micro payments work - as they may be what I am looking for.
Thanks in advance for any feedback.
RodThePlod.
p.s. as my web site gets closer to launch, I'm sure I'll be posting more and more questions here :o)
