Hi,
I wonder if anybody involved in the events/party/wedding industry would be interested in forming an affiliation.
I was thinking of adding other services to my catering company (for example chocolate fountains and maybe marquee hire) but the problem being, I understand how the catering industry works but I'm not too familiar with the workings of the other services and feel I may tarnish my reputation should anything happen whilst on a learning curve.
My thinking is - if there should be any members of this forum who are local to me (South East London) who would welcome some kind of alliance - By this I mean mutual website links and company X recommends company Y for (limo hire/wedding photography/hall hire)
Obviously some kind of vetting procedure would need to take to place.
Probably a stupid idea - has anybody any thoughts.
Kind Regards
Lorraine

Lorraine,
I am not in the industry myself, however I might know of two companies you could meet with to discuss this further, they are both based in east London, one is a Marquee company, the other a mobile bar oerator, they currently work together already and may well appreciate working with a company that has such obvious synergy.
They are a friend of a friend so it will take a few details, but I will pass them your details if you like and perhaps it might prove mutualy beneficial for you all.
Let me know if this sounds like a good idea or if you would rather I didn't pass on your details.
Mike.

Hello Mike
Thanks for taking the time to reply, very much appreciated. Please feel free to pass on my contact details (you can find these in my signature file)
A marquee company and mobile bar operator were exactly the type of businesses I was looking for. I feel if an alliance of some degree can be formed it would give extra weight and substance to the company's involved, with one company being an extension of the other.
As well as obtaining additional business and generating income - the other advantages could be on savings - areas such as increased purchasing power from various suppliers.
Kind Regards
Lorraine

Hi Lorraine,
I recently started a greeting card company and I also do wedding stationery.
I think that your services would compliment what I do and we can recommend our customers to each other.
As I said I'm quite new in the industry but would be interested in having a network with you.

Hi I came across these email marketing lists the other day
Product Type List Qty. Single Use Multi Use Hair-Beauty & Clothes Email 2315 £115.75 £405.13
Planning Your Wedding Email Addresses = 810 @ £40.50
Wedding Flowers & Decorations Email Addresses = 1476 @ £73.80
Wedding Photography & Video Services Email Addresses =2409 @ £120.45
Wedding Presents Email Addresses =570 @ £28.50
Wedding Transport Email Addresses =2322 @ £116.10
Wedding Venues & Receptions Email 5576 @ £278.80
I don't know if the lists are any good, I've not used them so I couldn't recommend them but
at these rates it's hardly a risk.
Contact me if you require any more info on these lists, I can provide you with full email marketing support including design, implementation, transmission, clickthrough tracking and analysis.
cheers Martin.
