I am a sourcing specialist planning to launch my own business soon. The business covers sourcing, quality control, logistics arrangements, sales and interpreting. The idea is about helping UK SME businesses find reliable suppliers in China or, vice versa, helping those businesses with high technology/ branded products find an appropriate market in China. As a part of the plan, I will also open offices in China soon.
As I just start doing this, I would be very grateful if someone who has already been in this business could kindly share his/her experience or lessons with me. It sounds annoying but really how to get business contacts here?
Many thanks,
SH

For striking up contact with the big players in china there a lot of b2b portals to consider.
www.globalsources.com for one, I have a bundle more somewhere on my PC from when I used to do a lot of PC wholesale. If you are interested then me know and I will try and dig them up.
Also to what extent are you to be involved with the sourcing ?
You may want to make good relations with freight forwarders etc. Redbarn International are one i have experience of and are very good. Search that name and they will turn up somewhere.
Hope this is mildy helpful.
