Does anyone know, if I bought something like a blackberry 7230 from ebay, would it work with an o2 pay and go sim card?
I want access to email on the move but I dont want to sign up for a contract. I was going to use my mobile, but o2 tell me pay and go cannot send/receive emails.

I don't know the answer to this so it's just a thought. But it seems to me if the O2 pay and go service cannot send or recieve emails it would not make a great deal of difference what type of phone/device you have if the service doesn't do it, it doesn't do it. It is after all the service that won't allow it, not your particular model of phone.

Hi
I'm on O2 (with a contract). I brought a Blackberry off ebay last year and had to have an extra service added to my contract. It costs about £18 a per month.

Yes you need Blackberry Internet Services (BIS) adding to the contract.
T-Mobile charge £10 per month for this. You get 50mb of email and a few mb of data traffic.
You can also add the 'unlimited' data package to this for £7-50, which gets you 2gb data too.
Oops, beginning to sound like a t-mobile rep now.

Hello
Most networks don't like you to buy Blackberry handsets second-hand as they are not pre-configured with the networks standard software.
Most will add on a service for you if you are with them for your contract, but PAYG doesn't generally support the Blackberry service.
My advice to you would be to use the email function built-in to a normal handset for which you just pay a normal data download charge.
If I can help you further, please do not hesitate to contact me. Likewise, if you want some details on a data-only Blackberry tariff then please let me know.
Kind Regards

The problem is o2 dont support e-mail built into the handset on pay and go handsets.
I have a motorola v3 which I know can do e-mails, but the options are not even on the phone, they've been removed.
Looks like I might have to buy a phone on vodafone or something instead
