I would like to install ADSL to my shop, which has 1 phone line, the line is used by the tel/fax machine and also the Barclay Card Credit Card Terminal.
Having spoken to both BT and BarclayCard. Neither will confirm if the Credit Card Machine will still work once the line is changed for ADSL.
Has anyone installed an ADSL line that is used by the Credit Card Terminal, and everything all still works.
BT did suggest that I install a second line, but if I don't have to then it would be an added expense that I can do without.
Regards,
Paul

Hello,
Yes they will work together, you just need to connect the Credit Card machine through a Microfilter.

Yes Mark's right, all the extensions (tel, fax, credit card machine) will need a microfilter fitted to separate the freqencies out, unless you opt for the more expensive BT installation where they fit an ADSL socket and run the extensions from that (not really necesary unless you are particular about neatness and having no cables hanging out - i.e. pet shops !)
There should not be any problem using the credit card machine or the tel/fax with an ADSL enabled line but however there are a small number of products that are not compatible including some fax machines and some caller display units plus a few cordless phones (BT do have the list but you have to push for it.
The list is not definitive and it is only products that they are aware of problems with - you should be ok but if worried have a search on google.com or perhaps post a query stating the products you are using to the uk.telecom forum on google.com groups.
