Hi all Just read on the Start up website the news that the govt is awarding extra cash incentives to councils who actively support small businesses in deprived areas. Whilst I applaud this, I feel it makes it difficult for people like myself trying to start up in a 'non-deprived' borough like Chelmsford in Essex. The fact is there are groups in well off areas who are still lacking equal access to services such as housing, employment etc. We as an organisation find it difficult to access funding from council because they have to 'count the pennies'. I think the govt should start looking at ways to encourage councils like Chelmsford to support small businesses providing a service to disadvantaged groups in their borough. Right, that's me off my soapbox! [8D]
