Dear all,
We are in the process of taking on a contrator (self employed person) to alleviate our workload, do we need employee liabilty insurance or is it the responsiblity of the contractor?
If required, does anybody know any insurance companies that provides solely Employee Liability insurance?
I do not require Public Liability insurance.
Many thanks in advance
Rassic

If they are not an employee then no but you may need public liability etc. (although you have said you don't)

Adam, that's not strictly correct. An employee is deemed to be anyone over which you exercise control, such as dictate their hours of work, what they do etc. So labour only sub-contractors would be deemed to be employees, as would people working voluntarily.
Public Liability is not a legal requirement.
