Hi Everyone. Just joined this forum after launching new site, www.thegadget.co.uk
Currently i am only accepting Paypal and Nochex, but after a week i have realised that this is rubbish in todays world. I need a proper Payment processing setup.
Ok. I dont have a Merchant account, and will not be able to get one. Therefore, i need an 'all in 1' jobby.
The Worldpay setup seems alright but pretty expensive setup etc.
Any others? Needs to accept Switch, Solo, Visa, Mastercard
Thanks
James

Hi James
Worldpay get good press from most, we have been reccomending them to clients for more than 5 years.
Barclays might be able to help, but the costs work out about the same when you add merchant fees, etc.
There are lower cost overseas operators, but watch out for these guys, make sure you get some excellent references before proceeding. There are countless tales of off-sore processors "going under" along with their clients funds.
We are Worldpay partners and if you order your account through us, we will offer a discount on our other services.

Thanks for that
I am actually looking for a service similar to Worldpay, but one which doesnt require such a high outlay. Was in contact with Metacharge, but they are even more expensive.
So guys, any reccomendations of services that do NOT reuqire a Merchant account. Uk or Overseas considered if they are any good

Unfortunately you do have to pay for a good quality product; I don't think you will get something offering the same quality of reputation, service, support and product as Worldpay for much cheaper than they charge.

What did i dislike about Worldpay?
Absolutley nothing apart from their high start up fees. Just looking for a way around having to pay such a high amount initially

For a start they have just limited my account for no reason and want me to fax them invoices for all the items which i sell. Asolutley Pathetic in my opinion even though, as they state it is for "my security".
Also, many buyers are put off by signing up on Paypal when making a purchase etc.

Our opinion at Intrepid is simple.... Worldpay may set you back on the initial investment but your customers are far more likely to convert the purchase if your using WorldPay. So our thinking is that sales will be higher on WorldPay compared with PayPal/Noches so your initial investment will be repaid quickly.

Well Well.. Firstly James can I say "Nice little site". Maybe we can work together, or you can give me a few tips. I am looking to do something online & offline maybe but still shopping around for ideas and getting advice from different people.
I know what your saying about WorldPay & Other merchant services. I do know another you could use and they offer all the facilities you require for a fraction of World pay and the others mentioned..
I am proposing the following to you. Contact me and swap some useful advice and I will let you know which company to try. I know they are in the region of £240 per year or pay monthly of £20.
P.S.. You probably know of these people, but it quite easy to overlook or bypass some companies.
Talk to you soon. (Best time is 9-5 by email and I will reply straight away)
