Hi
First let me introduce myself, my name is Adam Walker, and I represent ipClouds.co.uk.
ipClouds is a new VoIP company, which offers VoIP services to residential and business users.
VoIP is a "new" technology, which can aid businesses especially startups in lowering their costs. However we have found that instead of simply reducing costs, VoIP gives flexibility to the company. As you expand you can move offices and numbers without dealing with BT and the like. I have jotted down a few points about VoIP below, which users may find helpful.
1. Provider XYZ is cheaper
There are several providers who may seem cheaper, just as with conventional telephony there are hundreds of providers offering a saving of 1p over 60mins. As a company or even a residential user you need to see whether a 1p saving is useful, as opposed to have firstline support, and if the business you are dealing with has a sustainable business model. There will always be competitors with lower cost models, however we aim to not build a business based solely on price, but more importantly on customers response.
2. What do we get ?
You get a telephone number (0845), and access to a VoIP infratsructure, allowing you to call any country in the world. We do not offer local numbers eg 0207, 0208, since many companies have existing numbers they do not wish to change. In addition many VoIP companies offer these, however these numbers are non-transferable, which means once you have spent money marketing that number, you are stuck with the VoIP provider. We will be offering them only when BT/Ofcom allow number portability across networks, this giving the user freedom to move, if they wish to do so. Voicemail is also included for free.
3. So whats your price
We do not publish A-Z rates, since most clients we work with tend to only call 1, maybe two countries, hence a complete list of rates for over 200 countries makes little sense. Its like asking BT for their rate list to every country in the world. We create flat rate packages to popular destinations, if a package to your destination is not available, we ask you to make a posting on www.ipclouds.co.uk/forums and we will try to create one. Our Uk package is £99 for a year.
4. Why dont I just Skype
Our service does NOT require a PC, just broadband, which gives you more flexibility, you can plug in all your mobile handsets into the device, and walk round your office.
Skype used to have an advantage that it had a large userbase, ipClouds is currently interconnected to 31 VoIP providers worldwide, which means that if someone from another network called you, or you were to call them, your call would be free. As more and more companies and providers adopt VoIP, your call costs will reduce. Its like Orange users calling O2 users, whereas Skype users can only call other Skype users for free. ipClouds customers can call any voip network to which we are interconnected to for free.
5. Unlimited packages...too good to be true
Yes they are, all unlimited packages have a limit on them, which can be usually found in the small print on the website. However when choosing a package dont always opt for unlimited, you should have a rough idea of how many minutes you call per month, based upon that buy a package which suits your requirements.
ipClouds offers "unlimited" UK calling packages, the limit is based upon total call volumes across its customer base, which means that as long as their is a balance among light and heavy users, you will not ever hit your limit, and out of 117 customers none has ever touched their limit.
We have clients who are creating a free account (allows IP to IP caling only) and placing there number on their website, which allows customers to call them for free. As email reduced postal charges, VoIP will slowly start to negate calling charges for your customers.
I hope the above questions have been useful, if you have any further queries please contact me on sales@ipclouds.co.uk
In addition we are looking for budding entrepreneurs to partner with, and also cross promote our services. We are particularly looking for website designers, hosting companies, startup consultants (i.e accountants, lawyers), and hardware retailers.
Thankyou
Adam walker
