I am looking for an opportunity to get involved in either or all of the above markets.I know there is good money to be made in these sectors I just wondered if anyone could point me in the right direction.Basically, what I want to do is act as an agent advertising and forwarding applications for contract hire, leasing, mortgages and possibly even reposession work, and any form of credit.I have my own Consumer Credit Licence,I have premises, office, storage facilities etc but not pot loads of cash to put in.Can anyone help?

You dont need pots of cash .... do you want to act an indepenent finding the best deals for your clients? I take that you have access to all the lenders then? Are you aiming for the business market I take it as you are only a licensed credit broker?
Sorry lots of questions I know but I am just trying to find out more details to help with ...

Thanks Gillian. Not just the business sector as these contracts can now be done for private buyers.I am a licensed credit broker, but dont use main lenders directly only through a third party.

So why not set up and go direct to the lenders ... your percentages would increase ... Mortgages for the private person you cant do unless you are FSA registered, its a minefield that one, just be careful ... you could take the persons name, address and details etc, but you cannot advise in any way unless you are registered.

The direct lenders aren't always excited about being involved at the "small end" with small companies, and the big car discounts are only available when bulk purchasing, hence it's a lot easier to bolt-on.The mortgage side is actually easier, and you're right you just become an introducer. It's finding the right people and companies to associate with.

We dont find that so ... we have over 200 lenders who are more than willing for us to place our clients with them, at the end of the day (god how I hate that phrase!) its business for them!
But yes, you need to make sure that anyone you work with has integrity and you are more than comfy at passing on leads to them!

This is something we were looking into but had problems finding providers. WE had looked at the network franchise but were told we required 6 months in the business before we could talk to them.
We would be happy to pay a consultancy fee to anyone who has knowlage in this area.

My knowlegde of contract hire is fine,it's merely finding the established companies who are willing to let you advertise products and pass customers for a commission I need to find. The big boys,Black Horse,Ge Capital etc want to be aligned to main dealers and those providing bigger numbers.
