As a starter entrepreneur I am seeking to work for an established Business Owner/Entrepreneur/Investor with the aim of achieving the following:
- to learn business decision-making and risk-taking strategies, project execution from start to finish, profit making as an entrepreneur etc.

Having been made redundant a few years ago and with the growing reality of job insecurity, competitiveness in the job market especially as new graduates are entering the job market. I have researched and explored business and entrepreneurial frontiers. I looked into franchising – but found the following:
- many (not all) franchisors are only keen to profit from inexperienced and sometimes vulnerable franchisees and don’t seem to be clued up on developing the franchisees. I came close to securing some franchises (one nationally known franchise had over 90 of its franchisees including a friend of mine disgruntled and dissatisfied.
- Others charged astronomical start up fees + monthly royalties which led franchisees sometimes unable to break even.

I have opted for a short term employment simply on the basis of not to become another long term overhead expense. (Please correct me if this is wrong). I am self motivated and have good interpersonal skills

Having watched the Dragons Den, Apprentice and Tycoon series its safe to draw the obvious conclusion that the entrepreneurs/business owners among other things are providing a learning opportunity for starter business people.

The following statements have helped formed by decision to learn from entrepreneurs

‘People say being a business owner/entrepreneur/investor is risky. Flying an airplane is also risky but with training, people learn to fly and people travel via airplane. - Robert Kiyosaki (paraphrased)

‘There are winners, there are losers and there are people who have not yet learned how to win. - Les Brown

‘Champions are not born champions are raised’ - David Oyedepo
