The Oscar business began by supplying direct to supermarket chains under their own generic labels. It was a great start, but to sit on the shelf alongside many other brands, Oscar felt that consumers had no guidance as to what was the best product to feed their pets.

Oscar established that home delivery was becoming one of the most exciting growth areas of the 90’s, with pet food at the forefront. It was predicted that by the year 2010, 55% of all sales would be made at home. Clearly this was a fantastic opportunity for Oscar to offer a unique customer service package to try before you buy, home delivery, competitive prices (no middle man), nutritional and behavioural advice. The first Oscar franchise was established in 1993, and over the years they have kept a firm focus on the developments in pet food manufacturing, while devoting time to ensure a growing network of franchisees. An Oscar franchise is tailored to suit the individual, either to be treated as a second income, to develop into a full time business or to add to an existing operation. With each business growing from strength to strength, the Oscar System is continually improving, and on-going incentives continue to improve the potential of supporting its franchisees and their customers. Training And Support

Six days in-house training on all aspects of the Oscar business system which includes nutrition, sales and marketing, canvassing, customer consolidation, the Oscar challenge and building and retaining customer numbers.

Five days training with an Oscar Trainer to include customer building in your purchased area, as well as the structural part of your training which entails paper work, ordering details, customer record cards, planning your week and customer consolidation.

• Expert Support. Expert support from consultants in nutrition and behaviour is always available via a Freephone Helpline, to both you and your customer. There is also a veterinary advice line to help you solve any minor problems on behalf of your customers.

• Head Office Support . At Head Office we have a customer services team available to answer any of your questions on products, accounting and general queries.
