Just looking peopels thoughts on something I have noticed.
Lots of people are promoting there business on the “Offers for startups” thread but using a free email account e.g. hotmail, gmail etc.
To me this looks very unprofessional and I would think twice about dealing with someone who does not have a registered domain and email. Am I just being fussy? I am not sure price can be an issue as you can get very cheap domain emails and web hosting sites. I just think it looks unprofessional trying to promote a business on a free web email account….hay what do I know
Thoughts Anyone!!!!!

RE: Why Advertise Your Business with a Free Email Account

It does look suspicious that many of the new offers today are from new 'people' who have joined today, many using a different gmail account, and speaking in a similar way. Some of these messages may be construed as spam.
Free email addresses dont look so good. For normal businesses this can be forgiven since they may not know any better. However, alarm bells should be ringing if the offer is from a web-savvy company offering a web related service.
