Hi there,
I wonder if some one out there could help, for a few years now I have been building PC's and installing networks for people at a discounted price. (very discounted).
I get most of my stock from the likes of screwfix and blackbox networks.
What I would like to do is sell networking hardware online and work from my office permanentty while some one else installs the networks for me.
I have everything setup and ready to go apart from: "where do I actually purchase the stock from".
I mean the hardware i get now is cheap, but it isnt cheap enough to sell on.
I have seen a few people who do reseller acounts but none of them have got back to me as of yet.
I was wondering if some one else had any pointers to guide me.

Hello,
You could try subscribing to 'Computer Trade Only' at www.cto.co.uk which contains adverts for trade dealers. Also, www.bluepoint.net are a decent trade dealer - though you may find that there is very little margin in Computer Hardware, most computer companies make their money by offering 'value added services' such as installations. If you take a look at www.ebuyer.com you will see very competitive end-user prices, sometimes lower than trade!
Hope this helps,

Hello there,
If you take a look at our wholesaling section, there are details of several suppliers that may be able to help you out.
Have a look at http://www.startups.co.uk/wholesaling/article.asp?articleid=2562&zsectionid=46&subsectionid=230 to see if there is a supplier than can meet your needs.
Alternatively, take a look at our links to other supplier resources and tips on how to track down the right one for you at http://www.startups.co.uk/wholesaling/article.asp?articleid=2553&zsectionid=46&subsectionid=230
I hope this is of some help.[

We have a couple of clients who deal with networking installation, if you email your details to us we can put you in touch with them. I would say though that Inkmad has really hit the nail on the head as the margins here are really low.

Wirth relation to computer parts I recommend 3 suppliers.
1) eBuyer - as already mentioned. Worth noting is that prices are cheaper with a trade account.
2) www.aria.co.uk - akin to eBuyer although prices may be lower at times.
3) Speriod - aka compubits - www.compubits.co.uk you can't even see prices here without setting up an account - but accounts are easy to get. Typically you just fax a letterhead to them. These people are *extremely* competitive [
].
Have fun!

Thats excellent guys, I really didnt expect a response so quick.
I know that margins are going to be extremely tight, but this is my last chance to give it a go in IT installations/hardware before I return back to shopfitting. (oh god).
I still have a lot of work to do on the website and the general build of my business.
Anyway thanks again guys.

Just another quick one, to say a special thanks to everyone,
EMPLAW, Thanks for the offer, when I am up and running I will do just that
NOGEEKS, I have been in touch with compubits and they are going to get back to me.
INKMAD, Thanks to you to and what a great website, a guy at work asked me if he knew where we could buy inkcartridges online cheap, if only I was here last week.
And a big thanks to the Startups admin guys for knowing this site so well.
Thank you
Phil,

Just another point. For ink cartrides I find www.choiceconsumbles.com to be competitive.
Worth a shot if you're interested.
