An independent recruitment company is positively targeting the over 50s as partners for a new franchise operation designed to bring much needed experience and skills into the industry.
Omni Executive Search will give 116 senior industry experts a lucrative opportunity to set up their own businesses, with each successful applicant expected to earn a six figure salary within the first two years.
According to Omni Executive Search, only 20% of over 50s are currently employed. It added that franchising has high success rates, with 88% of franchisees operating profitable businesses in the UK and two thirds of these coming from salaried employment.
New anti-discrimination legislation due to come into force this October will make it illegal for companies to purposefully target a particular age group – whether positively or not.
However, although Omni Executive Search believes the over 50s are those most likely to have the required skillset, it is open to candidates of any age group.
Omni managing director Robert Leggett, said: We are positively encouraging applications from the over 50s for our new venture because they have the skills and ability to be excellent head-hunters and we want to trade in their industry expertise.”
