Great to see this show back last night. The new guy is my kind of dragon if he's giving away £60,000 to people who don't know the difference between turnover and profit!
Good show last night though. Thought the student party planners should have gone with Deborah Meadon not Peter Jones - he's just in it for the money.
Anyone here ever thought of going on?

The new dragon is my kind of dragon as well - he's hot!!
Seriously though, fair play to him for investing in the gold plating guy, he rocognised he had talent and didn't care if he wasn't perfect. The others forget what it was like to be a start-up and not get everything right all the time.
Theo is so sly but guess that's why is made so much money. Deborah looks like she's chewing a wasp!

Been a long time since i've been on these forums, see they have had a refurb.
I have considered going into the den, but the problem now, its the dragons who are the entertainment.
Do people think someone is best prooving their business model works and then going on dd, or would a business idea which has not bee tested or operational have as much a chance to get investment required?
Your thoughts people?
I am looking to put together a webbased site together, www.secretbusinesspartner.com to offer an ecommerce "market place" allowing new businesses to focus on "selling" their products ithout the worry of building a webshop and worry about ecommerce in return for a share of turnover. Would anyone like to get involved in this, or have any thoughts on this idea?

Hi Ronnie
You raised some interesting questions in your post regarding the best timing to apply to appear on Dragons Den.
Having just heard a very interesting talk from someone who entered the den and came away with an investment, I am sure that not only do you have to 'know your business and its potential' but also be prepared at all times for the unexpected. After all it is a TV show and probably knowing how TV shows are made must help when preparing for the pitch. Anything could happen to distract attention away from those few minutes in front of the Dragons.
The build up pressures in the studio may explain why some people just lose it when their moment to pitch arrives, and the failing probably makes for more interesting TV.

Hi! Has anyone ever invested or at least made serious enquires/due diligence on some propositions featured before the Dragons? I think some franchising propositions could actually work (and some do work) and may well be worth a try...

Did anyone see the children in need version, nice to see them acting a bit softer and it shows you that it is camped up a bit for TV. I'm sure they wouldn't speak to investors like that in the 'real' world.
