Hi

Run a small business from home (just husband and wife team) in UK. When we first started we signed up to Neopost for a small franking machine (to help with having items prepaid and ready just to hand in at the post office).

For the pasted few months the business has been struggling. We stopped using the machine and contacted Neopost to cancel the contract and asked them to collect the equipment. They then advised us that the contract is for 10 years! To terminate it would cost us a percentage of the remaining contract, etc.

The Neopost salesman saw our set up and never told us the contract was for soooo long (tbh we didnt know if we'd still be running in 2yrs let alone 10yrs). How do we stand legally in regards to this mis-sold contract?

The business has no money and we cant personally fund the amounts Neopost are demanding. We feel they mis-sold the contract and are now bullying/threatening us for payments.

Any help and advice appreciated.

Thanks
JDM
