Are you looking for funding for your new business? If so, the BBC is looking for you.

It’s currently filming a new factual programme, Dragon’s Den, where start-ups and entrepreneurs will pitch their ideas to a panel of investors. If one or all of the investors decide yours is the ‘right idea’, they’ll then invest the amount of money you’ve requested.

The makers of the programme told Startups.co.uk that they’re determined to secure an investment, so there’s a real chance that one of the people pitching on the final day could walk away with funding. Filming has already begun and the panel has seen numerous pitches over the past few months, and investment has been received. With numerous days of filming left more entrepreneurs are being urged to come forward.

Each pitcher will face the panel (Dragon's Den) and must:

  • Declare the amount of investment they require
  • Declare the amount of equity in the company they are offering to investors
  • Pitch their idea in 3 minutes
  • Face tough questioning from the Dragons before a decision on investment is made

In order to invest, the Dragon's are looking for potential, sustainability, imagination, dynamism and an understanding of business.

Not all of the members of the panel have to invest; it only need be one. However, whoever invests MUST exactly match your declared amount and agree to the equity.
