Hello All,
I'm a self employed web designer working part-time from home. I'm starting to think about the future and how I'd like the business to grow and that posed a few questions. I'm after some (very) ballpark costs for running a small business (one man) with necessary insurance (including public liability) and small office space.
I appreciate that costs vary massively depending on circumstances etc. but if anyone has any experience and can give approx. costs per annum to help me see the future that would be very helpful. In particular, I'm interested in average costs for small office space, including general bills and insurance.
Any help appreciated. Thanks in advance,

I think the best advice, at this stage, is to work full-time from home and then evaluate the viability of relocating. from this you will start to get an idea of expenditures (phone and electricity) but more importantly, you'll have evidence of your earning capacity.
As soon as you take on office space you'll look at a minimum of £100 per week rent (check your local agents) £20 pw for gas/elec, another £200 per year for Public Liability insurance and the committment of a lease. Ttread gingerly!
Cheers, Nigel
