Does anybody have experience with price comparison web sites such as: Kelkoo, PriceRunner, Shopping.com, etc?
I have recently registered my site with Shopping.com in order to get some exposure and of course sales. The market i am (memory cards) in costs approx 30p per click which can pretty much eat up the profits very quickly!
Does anybody have an opinion on which one is better to use or any other marketing tips to get your site exposure and the all important search engine rankings!!!

RE: Price comparison web sites...... good for business?
First of all I love your site, it’s very clean and crisp
Regarding price comparison sites, its not something I would opt for when just starting up, the competition is quite high and the click cost…ouch!
Have you considered running an eBay shop with a link to yours to attract attention? Also having an affiliate programme that you could promote to photography clubs and forums would be a good idea
The most effective way I find with my clients is making use of your mailing list for sending out promotions look at product release dates like Canons new range on digital SLR’s in February and the new Nokia E range in the first quarter of the year
Making sure you target products with your product (the accessory) is going to be the big selling point for you in your mail outs. Get your users to subscribe to the mailing list that suits its needs for example, I would sign up to the Camera Card list only and you could target me with information on the new line of cameras and the benefit and speed rates of your latest cards, if you had to target me with a generic email or one on PSP I’d most probably unsubscribe. Targeting is the key in this…..
Are you also promoting your current competition via email if not you should consider it.
All the best with it and if I need another memory card I’ll drop by

glad you like the site
You have some really good ideas. We had been playing with the idea of an eBay shop but hadnt really had the time to investigate it thoroughly. The only worry i had with eBay is pricing can be very cheap on some of these cards because a lot of them are grey imports. All our stock is sourced in the UK and hence it can be hard to compete on price.... But it could still be worth considering....
I think your right about the specific targetting. We will be sending out a catalogue in Jan so thats something we will definitely put some more effort into.... Thanks again.
