I am moving to new premises at the end of the month & would like to sort out my call handling once and for all

I will have a standard BT line, with 8Mb Broadband activated. I want to use this line for my B/Band connection (up to 4 PC's), Telephone (Cordless would be better and I have the handsets), Fax, Tel Answering m/c & Modem (PC sending out faxes at night)

Currently I have an old switch which answers the call, then redirects it to Phone, fax or modem & redirects it to Answering machine after so many rings. The only thing I do not like about this old switch is that the ringing seems to change after 2 rings whilst it diverts to whatever its going to. The switch is an old Micromanager 3300 (I say old meaning I have had it for 10-12 years !!)

I have some problems with it, in that after making a call it doesn't seem to hang the line up - although I can usually clear this easily. It also doesn't seem to recognise my cordless handset hanging up a call. Also, if I try to pick up a call at certain stages, it just carries onto the Answering m/c.

I want something seamless, which will direct to phone, fax, answering m/c or modem easily (modem only needs to be outwards). I also intend to put some sort of call divert onto it to divert to my mobile when I am out of the office - not always, but sometimes.

What can anyone suggest - I don't want to spend too much on this, as I have plenty of other bills to be worrying about? I have also thought about a call handling service, but think I may have someone who will cover for a few hours a day for me, so this might not be necessary anymore.

What way are all of you covering your calls, etc? And what works best for you? Is there something you can recommend or sell me which will sort all of this out?

Thanks in advance.
Mark
