Hi
An idea could be to try to generate a buzz by using a similar approach to cash in the attic and auction shows
Now depending on your budget
Maybe create a flyer outlining what you do, give the content on the flyer that auction show approach and feel
Then offer one lucky household the chance to have there goods sold on eBay with a reduced charge or even better FREE you could hold the draw once a month once a week whatever suits you
You could also build testimonial pages for the winners
You not just limited to the flyer approach you can advertise your offer on the local radio station, papers, business directories, word of mouth etc etc
You could also have press releases written about what you’re doing in the local community
With clients feedback and send these to your local media houses

I also have some concerns
If I was to use your service where would my goods be kept?
How am I covered if my product is Broken or Stolen?
Maybe you should add the answers to you site to pre empt peoples concerns
Overall I like your service and think that if promoted right, people will catch on and start talking about your business
Good luck
Mark

thanks for both your ideas and concerns.
i agree that the best way to promote the business is to create a buzz. i like the idea of some sort of free service to get some local media attention.
as for the concerns, the FAQs are work in progress and i can see why it needs to be addressed ASAP.
any more suggestions would be gratefully received.
Many thanks,
Matt

I think I may have something you would be interested in. I can find profiled customers for your business and supply a tool which allows you to digitally print leaflets and have them sent automatically to the database. You get access to data to market to as much and as often as you like for a 12 month period. Send me an email to kateouthwaite@theydo.couk or give me a call on 07920208222
